Easter might be the most fun holiday to host. It would be hard to decide between Christmas and Easter, but I love Spring weather and the opportunity to entertain outside.
Easter is bright, colorful, and practically begs for a boozy brunch — laid-back but still elegant enough to bring out your best serveware and fresh flowers. Easter entertaining, for me, is about personality, layering, and honoring the holiday with both style and substance. I try to avoid cheesy plastic bunnies here — think refined bunnies with a playful wink.
Of course, I use my Maggie Method to pull it all together.

How to Use The Maggie Method for Your Easter Table
- Foundation
I love starting with patterns — think bold florals, classic stripes, or even an ikat layered over bamboo lattice. A patterned tablecloth or runner sets the tone and instantly elevates the look. - Layers
Bring in depth with dinnerware that doesn’t shy away from personality. Mix soft pastels with vibrant pops of color — blush plates with emerald green napkins, or classic white dishes with bold, patterned chargers. Don’t forget textured glassware to add sparkle. - Focal Point
Keep it fresh and organic. Low arrangements of cherry blossoms, Easter lilies, peonies, tulips, or ranunculus paired with natural elements like moss, nests, or branches. And if I can sneak in a family heirloom piece or vintage accent, even better. - Accents
This is where the details matter — mix metals, layer textures, and play with unexpected elements like delicate bird figurines or butterflies, brass candlesticks, or woven napkin rings. - Finishing Touch
A bold detail to seal the deal — maybe bright glassware, a fun place card, or a little takeaway favor (edible or decorative).
Easter Decor & Color Inspiration
- Beyond pastels: pair soft blush or pale blue with bold pops of coral, emerald, or cobalt
- Natural elements: rattan chargers, linen runners, moss accents, woven textures
- Layered florals: on the table, on your plates, and in napkin patterns
- Chic touches: brass candlesticks, glass bunnies, delicate garlands without looking too sweet

A Note on Patterns
Patterns are one of my favorite tools — I love mixing florals with stripes, pairing ikat with bamboo lattice, and finding unexpected combinations that still feel polished. The right patterns add dimension, personality, and just the right amount of surprise.
Easter Buffet Tips
- Start with plates, end with napkins and flatware for smooth traffic flow
- Use risers, cake stands, and layered trays for height and visual appeal
- Add touches of greenery and natural elements on the buffet — keep it fresh but not fussy
- Keep drinks separate so guests aren’t reaching over food
- Label dishes clearly (bonus points for using pretty place cards or mini chalkboards)
