Want to throw a Masters-themed party (or graduation sendoff like The Gradsters)? Here’s how to pull it off without overthinking it:
Some friends of ours threw a senior party with a Masters theme and called it “The Gradsters” — complete with a custom “Masters Sandwich Bar,” a light-up GRADSTERS marquee, themed green velvet lounge seating, and a lineup of life-sized cardboard cutouts of the grads decked out in green jackets. It was such a hit, I had to break down how you can recreate the look, the menu, and the vibe for your own spring gathering.

The Vibe:
- Dress code: pastels, polos, sundresses, or anything with a preppy flair
- Decor: turf runners, gingham napkins, golf ball centerpieces, fresh white flowers
- DIY signage: faux leaderboards, flag place cards, and cheeky party signs like “Clubhouse Snacks” or “19th Hole”
- Lounge area with turf rug, uplighting, and white modern furniture with dark green pillows
- Custom DJ booth with backlit GRADSTERS branding
- Life-size cardboard cutouts of each graduate as the “green jacket” winners
- Mini putting station with multiple ramps and holes for guests to test their swing — a fun interactive touch that brought out everyone’s competitive spirit

Menu (Inspired by their custom sign):
- Sandwich Bar:
- Hot ham & pimento cheese sliders (Hawaiian rolls)
- Classic chicken salad sandwiches (served on white bread)
- Masters-style turkey clubs (white bread, quartered)
- Crudité with lavash and dips:
- Buttermilk herb, green goddess, caramelized onion
- Snacks:
- BBQ and classic chips
- Classic & pecan caramel popcorn
- Sweets:
- Mini brownies, chocolate chip cookies, and moon pies
Set up a sandwich or sweets station using a green cabinet, bar cart, or table draped in turf or deep green linens to keep everything on theme. Bonus points if you add custom signage or a state emblem to personalize it!

Drinks:
- Spiked Arnold Palmers (see recipe in my Pimento Cheese blog)
- Sweet tea and lemonade for the non-drinkers
- Optional: a mint julep station with crushed ice and cute cups
Activities:
- A little putting station with plastic golf balls
- “Green jacket” photo op for the best-dressed guest or game winner
