Dark, bold, and just the right amount of wicked. This isn’t your average espresso martini—it’s rich, smooth, and dressed for Halloween. With a shot of espresso, a hint of vanilla, and that sultry black sugar rim, it’s the perfect potion to keep your party pumping long into The Witching Hour.
Ingredients
- 2 oz vodka
- 1 oz coffee liqueur such as Kahlúa
- 1 oz freshly brewed espresso cooled
- 0.5 oz vanilla syrup or simple syrup, if you prefer
- Black sugar for rimming, optional
- Garnish: espresso beans or black licorice twist
Instructions
- If you’re using black sugar, rim a chilled martini glass by lightly moistening the rim and dipping it in the sugar to create a “widow’s web” effect.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the vodka, coffee liqueur, cooled espresso, and vanilla syrup.
- Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds, until well chilled and slightly frothy.
- Strain into the prepared martini glass.
- Garnish with a few espresso beans or a twisted piece of black licorice to complete the “widow” effect.
